What you get
DigitalOcean is a cloud provider known for simple virtual servers (Droplets), managed databases, Kubernetes, App Platform and object storage.
According to DigitalOcean's documentation, new accounts get a $5 sign-up credit, applied automatically when you create your first team. It expires 90 days after you sign up.
The well-known $200, 60-day credit was a promotion. DigitalOcean's old free-trial page now redirects to its homepage, and its referral documentation says referred users get the standard sign-up credit. Coupon sites that still advertise $200 aren't backed by any current DigitalOcean page I could find.
Who qualifies
- New DigitalOcean accounts.
- You need to add a valid payment method before you can create Droplets or other resources.
- The credit stays with the team it was issued to and can't be transferred.
How to claim it
- Open the DigitalOcean link on this page and sign up.
- Create your first team. The sign-up credit is applied automatically.
- Add a payment method.
- Check the billing section of the control panel, where the credit appears as Signup Credit.
Good to know
- The credit expires 90 days after sign-up.
- It covers DigitalOcean products except SaaS add-ons.
- DigitalOcean's promotional terms exclude Marketplace purchases, support plans, cryptocurrency mining and prepayments, and credit has no cash value.
